At 25, Jean graduated from Portland Jewelry Academy. An important milestone for our family-run business. For the first time in over 20 years, we were able to bring bench work back in-house after relying on trusted third-party partners in Portland to serve our community’s repair needs.
Today, the average age of a bench jeweler is around 50, and there simply aren’t enough skilled craftspeople for every independent jewelry store to maintain an in-house shop. Recognizing this gap, Jean has made it their mission to raise awareness about the industry’s needs and to mentor the next generation of jewelers. That mission has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of. Our repair shop is now thriving, with four fully equipped benches, an apprentice, a junior bench jeweler, and a master bench jeweler.
Together, we offer a full range of services including jewelry restoration, general jewelry repair, restringing, minor watch repair, fabrication, casting, custom design, and appraisals.
While we do still send out for major watch repair projects, we are hoping to have some horologists within the next couple of years.
